What can you do to simplify your life?

We have all become accustomed to our fast-paced modern lives.

But we can create something different, something better, something more fulfilling and less harmful to the earth.

We can hold ourselves back or we can send ourselves forward into a more earth-friendly, magical existence. The choice is yours.

Today, I spent time in my little garden plot, watering and weeding. It is my winter garden (in the tropics), so I have ginger, turmeric, garlic, dragonfruit, and basil (which is about as big as a bush!). My simple living act of growing some herbs and vegetables decreases my need to buy these items. I save money and enjoy chemical-free herbs and vegetables from my own backyard. Gardening also makes me feel magical and connected to the earth. Butterflies flutter around, birds chirp, and sometimes a cute neighborhood cat swings by to say 'hello.'

Simple living. Simple joys.

Find a simple starting point with a simple swap.

Grow 1 herb that you love in a pot in your kitchen.

What herb do you want to use every week? For me that's basil. This is why the majority of my small garden plot is basil.

Try a shampoo bar instead of a plastic bottle that holds liquid shampoo. Reducing your plastic use helps to keep these volatile chemicals out of the oceans, out of the food chain, and out of our bodies.

I encourage you to take a moment, right now, and ask yourself: what can I do to simplify my life?
